BOOSTING SELF ESTEEM
Low body image is a global issue especially among girls. 81% of 10 year old girls in the US are afraid of being fat. Doves global research shows 6 out of 10 girls are concerned with the way they look and they avoid participating in a range of activities. Our new girls league boosts self confidence and self esteem, in an environment that is positive, fun and encourages each girl to believe in themselves.
LEAVING NO CHILD BEHIND
Last year we tested 100 disadvantaged children and youth for physical literacy and their scores were on average 20%. Now with our new Tennis on the Streets program these kids will have the opportunity to improve those scores, learn tennis and develop self confidence at the same time. We bring tennis to their neighbourhood, as due to lack of transportation and resources they are unable to come to the courts. This is an opportunity that will improve their health forever.
Teen Depression on the Rise
A recent study by Queen Elizabeth Medical Centre in Australia 0f 400 9-12 year olds, 16 were found depressed and 112 assessed at being vulnerable to future depression. With social media on the rise, teens are comparing themselves and feel money and fame can make you happy. Happier children believe feeling good comes from healthy attitudes and pursuing worthwhile goals. Our program focuses on life skills, self confidence and skills that will help them believe in themselves, become the next generations of leaders and make a huge positive impact in their lives. In our positive environment they learn anything is possible with hard work.
Please help us by donating today so we can continue to reach all kids so no one is left behind, increase self esteem and confidence in girls, and create future leaders in our teens so they can go on to make a positive impact in their lives and those around them. We are creating the next generation of kids who believe in themselves, and will live a long and happy life.
