Physical Literacy

Physical literacy comes from developing a wide variety of fundamental movement skills such as hopping, skipping, throwing, catching and jumping. It just happens that these are key tennis skills as well. Physically literate kids have a lot more fun being active, and physically active kids get higher grades in school, have better social skills, and are happier and more confident. We do an assessment on each child during the season and track their progression to help them with the required skills to be more active.

Core Values - OK HEART

We incorporate principles based on our core values into each lesson and this will help kids in every aspect of their lives. They discover for themselves who they are and what they can do. This program uplifts communities to create the next generation of leaders.

Teamwork
Our programs at A Love of Tennis incorporate tennis skills, physical literacy, core values, and team tennis to empower our participants towards believing in themselves and reaching their full potential.

No previous tennis experience is required, and all equipment is provided.

We currently offer two types of programs: Lessons and Leagues.
Stay tuned for our third program, Women in Leadership, coming soon! Below is a breakdown of our programs.

Please note:
  • All players will begin with lessons.
  • Our leagues are open for girls and women, in support of equity in sports.

Lessons
Our lessons are 45 minutes of progressive tennis programming, followed by 45 minutes of practice play. Our coaches use direct instruction to teach both tennis skills and our core values, while working to increase participants' physical literacy skills. Practice play happens in a team tennis format, allowing everyone to develop independently and collaboratively.
